Tiu Keng Leng HKDI |Recordings of the Times: A Photography Exhibition Recreating Classic Music Sounds and Images

Description
The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee) (HKIVEL) joins hands with Bang & Olufsen and the Hong Kong Professional Photographers' Association to present 'Echoes of Time: A Photography Exhibition of Musical Legends'. This exhibition aims to evoke collective memories through design and invites the public to relive the golden era of Hong Kong pop music.
With 'Connecting Classics and Contemporaries' as the curatorial concept, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey back to the golden age of the Hong Kong music industry. It showcases the grandeur of superstars and the stories behind album productions through film images, combined with Bang & Olufsen's immersive sound experience, creating an audiovisual time-traveling journey.
Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Bang & Olufsen, the exhibition features a special display area for classic audio models, illustrating the evolution of the music industry from analog to digital. It also exhibits the works of five renowned photographers - Ku Chang-shi, Wong Wing-hay, Zhang Wenhua, Wong Hei-sing, and Lau Sun-hang. Through their lenses, they captured the transformations of the Hong Kong music scene from the 1980s to the 2000s, and each work serves as a vivid footnote of that time.
Encouraging a dialogue between new generation designers and classics, HKIVEL initiates a student creation project where students reinterpret classic album covers with modern design techniques. This fusion of retro melodies and contemporary designs embodies the spirit of 'Inheritance and Innovation'.
You are cordially invited to HKIVEL to experience the collision of design, music, and imagery, revisiting those unforgettable memories of the music industry.
